Plans

Put yourself in Joseph's shoes. He's updated his relationship status on Facebook to "engaged." All his carpenter buddies know Mary, he's even lined up the caterer. And then she drops this little bomb on him. "Wait? What? You're pregnant?"

What would you do? Well...

Matthew 1:20-21, 24 (New Living Translation)

20 As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," the angel said, "do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."

...

24 When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife.

Maybe he had heard about this:

Isaiah 7:14 (NLT)

14 All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means "God is with us").

God's plans don't look like our plans. Which is good to remember in the middle of a busy time.
